Summer Sunday School has sadly come to an end. All age classes met together for a time of fun, fellowship, and bible
lessons. We had a great turn out as the classroom was packed every Sunday. Many THANKS to the volunteers that stepped
up to help this summer and made it run so smoothly for all concerned.
With all endings a new beginning is created! Regular Sunday School has begun and we have made some changes this year.
The pre-k class and Kindergarten have been combined and continue to meet in the Godly Play room; the 1st grade has
combined with 2nd grade and will meet in the St Luke’s room; and 3rd-5th have combined and will meet in the B&B (Crafty
Ladies room). These classes are created to increase the class sizes for more dynamics in each class and to help reduce the
number of volunteers needed. I have asked for a more regular commitment from teachers to increase the continuity and
familiarity with the children. We have also purchased new curriculum for the Pre-k, Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grade
classes.
We are creating WOW! Sundays for the children. These are unannounced Sundays that will combine all grades for music,
fun, games, snacks, and special surprises. Look for the first WOW! Sunday coming soon! We are making some changes to
the children’s music program. They are currently under review,
but rest assured that these sweet little voices will be serenading us in church!
Young Families Fellowship continues to meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of
each month, offsite. We have group discussion, fun and fellowship and all
families with young children are invited to give it a try.
