Julie Bird Winchester, Director of Youth Ministries, works with the clergy,
lay youth leadership and parents to provide a meaningful Christian
Education for youth in grades 6 through 12.
Having lived in several states and spending summers in Germany, she
spent most of her formative years here in West Palm Beach. She
married a third generation West Palm Beach Floridian - Sterling
Winchester. They settled in Palm Beach Gardens where they raised
their two (now grown) children. She has worked with at-risk youth since
1987 and began working for church youth programs in 1996.
After many years of youth work, she came to Good Shepherd in August
of 2002. She has developed a faith formation journey for the youth of
our parish, helping them to keep their eyes on God, meet Christ on their
journey and keep their hearts and minds open to God’s voice as it
whispers to them “hang in there”. No one says adolescence is easy!
